Fullmetal Alchemist Anime Profiles

Fullmetal Alchemist Anime Profiles :: FMA is one of my favorite anime series, so it was a real treat (but a lot of work) to adapt the book. Graphic not representative of actual book.

PROJECT: Translate Fullmetal Alchemist Anime Profiles into English for well-known anime and manga publisher VIZ Media. The book deals with the TV anime version of the manga created by Hiromu Arakawa.

SOFTWARE: Microsoft Word.

SCOPE: My role was to perform the English rewrite based on the literal translation done by Region Free's Cindy Yamauchi and assistant Hitomi Shirai. The script was then turned over to VIZ for final editing. My other, very time-consuming job was to comb through the 51-episode TV anime to try to match up literal translations of the book's pull quotes to what was actually said in Funimation's English subtitled adaptation, then look up the English dubbed version to use as the book translation.
